It's good to be pregnant right now.
I'm still up. I was hungry. I had some Baked Cheetos, then some Cheerios Snack Mix, then some more Baked Cheetos. I seriously could've finished off that bag of Cheetos. But I didn't. I moved on to a frozen burrito. Man, they're good. Put a spoonful of fat-free sour cream on the plate and lots of Taco Bell hot sauce (thank goodness for extra packets lying around!).
Could it BE any better than that? Eating at 2:30am?! It was nice - I worked on the crossword puzzle from the Saturday edition of the Sunday paper. Normally, I'd work on the Sudoku, but I miraculously completed it earlier this evening! I think that might've only been the 2nd time I've ever successfully finished a Sunday Sudoku!
It's been a good day.

Giving Digital Scrapbooking the Ol' College Try...
What do you think?
I've tried Digital Scrapbooking a couple of different times, and this time, I finally stuck with it long enough to get a page completed! I think I like it...it has the potential to be faster, cleaner, and maybe even cheaper than conventional scrapbooking. No, I'm NOT giving up "paper" scrapbooking - I just have SO many pictures that I want to do something with and this may be a faster option for many of them...if that makes sense.
Anyway, I got all of the elements of this page for FREE off the internet! There are soooo many websites that let you download free digiscrapping files! Richard has even commented, "If those are the free ones, imagine what you'd get if you paid money!" Needless to say, there are many, beautiful pages, page kits, and embellishments out there!

Fuddruckers with Jillian and her "Best Friends"
Last night, we met up with Debbie, John, and Olivia at Fuddruckers to kickoff Mother's Day Weekend with a yummy dinner and fun company!
Jillian left the house excited, saying that Olivia was her best friend, but because she didn't feel like napping that day, she promptly fell asleep on the way to dinner (sleeping in the car is a rarity!)...it means that Richard and I can actually have a conversation!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: isn't she precious?!
Fun times with Mommy!
Being Jillian's Mommy is the most special thing in the world to me!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
5 Minutes for Mom is having an exciting photo contest. In case you aren't familiar with their site, it is an incredibly fun and helpful parenting resource! I highly recommend you check it out!
Here is the picture I'm entering into their "What Motherhood Means To Me" photo contest:
There are so many pictures I have taken of sweet Jillian that mean so much to me as her mother, but this one stands out in my mind as one that stands for what motherhood means to me, as it captures the pure innocence that we, as mothers, so often witness. The pensive look on Jillian's face - as she looks out into the distance - also seems to accurately convey how bittersweet it can be, as a mother, to think into the future - one that perhaps isn't so distant - and to realize that children grow up so quickly.

Nike+ Saucony =
Yesterday, I got my new, Nike+ SportBand in the mail! I had pre-ordered it so that it would be delivered as soon as it officially hit the market, and boy, am I glad! Click on the "next" button after going to the link and it shows how the band works - VERY COOL! AND, in adding the link to this post, I discovered that it even offers training programs!
As for the "Saucony" portion of the title, I got new running shoes delivered earlier this week! It's a little sooner than I planned on getting new shoes, but I've always felt something wasn't right with my previous shoes. Don't get me wrong - I've always loved New Balances, but I made the mistake of not going to Run On! to get a shoe suggestion based on my walk and run. I had gone there a few years back, learned my feet overpronate, and bought the NB shoes to help with that problem. SO, after finally being in enough pain 2 weekends ago (after doing a practice run of the 5k route I intended on running the next day in a race), I went to Run On! and got their opinion. Turns out the shoe was OVER correcting the pronation problem and that I didn't need that much stability. So they helped me find the shoe I ended up getting for much cheaper online (I feel a little guilty about how much they helped me and then turning around and getting that very same shoe somewhere else, but hey, it's their choice to not have a competitive price, right?).
So now, I've got some goals set and am tracking them here. I'm also participating in a couple of challenges: The "Run for your car" race (at the request of Richard...we're both running for Jeep) and a Starters Challenge. The only discouraging part about all of this is that it seems my watch that I was using to track my information was a tad off. I think it's really only off by about a tenth of a mile, but even that small of a number still cuts into the pace that I thought I had established. Just to make sure, I may try to recalibrate the Nike+ Sport Band if, after mapping a certain route it seems at all off. That way, come race time, I'm not thrown for a loop!
Check back for my running progress! I'll be posting my updated running stats on the sidebar - here is what it will look like:

Pace: 8'51" per mile
Today's stats:
Distance: 3.347 miles

Furniture...
A brief blog about the best piece of furniture I've had, in an effort to win an amazing LoveSac!!!
BEST PIECE OF FURNITURE: Honestly, it's a toss up between our bed and our sectional. The bed, because it was the first piece of furniture that Richard and I bought. We both love it and I know we will have it for a long, long time. The sectional because who wouldn't love a piece of furniture that results in blissful sleep after sitting/laying on the chaise portion for 5 minutes?!

New 'Do!
Well, it's been since late May/early June of 2007 that I've gotten a cut and color...(although my friend Debbie was kind enough to trim my hair right around this last holiday season...). I finally couldn't stand it any longer and became okay with spending one lump sum on myself. It also helps that now Jillian is in MDO, so I just scheduled it during that time. Boy, does a cut and color make a WORLD of difference!!! I feel like a brand new, more spirited mommy! LeighAnne, from my moms group, has a salon and was the one that did my hair last year - I love what she did both times! I've already told myself (and Richard) that I will NOT let myself go that long between hair appointments again! I have to remind myself that it's totally worth it!!!
I was all about getting a "stacked" haircut, with it longer in the front than in the back...
And lots of chunky highlights! Admittedly, my hair is a little flat in these pictures...
Anyway, I'm really loving my new 'do! It's great for yoga and I'm sure for running (haven't been running since before the cut). One, little clippy on the side is cute, as is a headband...or no hair accessory at all!
Thanks, LeighAnne!!!
P.S. - Yes, I feel ridiculous doing a whole post on my hair, but I just wanted to share my excitement :)

Going Green
Some of you may already know, but over the last year or so, I've gotten "greener" and "greener"...at first, it was pretty much because I wanted cleaner food and to be healthier. Now, I hesitate to use grocery bags and drink from water bottles. I do my best to bring my canvas bags for library books, groceries, etc. and I always make sure I use my non-leeching, reusable water bottles when I'm out and about. Once you've read about the ecological impact of water bottles, it's just hard to go back to drinking from one! Check out all the different articles regarding this topic!
Like I said, I try to use my canvas bag when possible, but check this out!
Very, very cool! At first, a couple of years ago, it seemed almost annoying the way companies seemed to capitalize on the whole "green" thing, but at this point, I'm really glad about it - there's nothing wrong with going a little more natural in the interest of health and our carbon footprint!
Here are some really great sites (though I'm sure there are many more):

Revamping the site...
You may have noticed that I've sort of added some things to this blog. For one, I just have too many interests to keep track of - various forms of health - exercise, healthy food, going green, etc. And then there's crafts. I don't think I need to say anything else, but if I did, I'd say, "etsy.com!!!!!"
Another neat thing I've discovered is all of the wonderful Mom Blogs out there! They're full of fun advice, tips, and even contests! In fact, I'm even entering to win an mp3/radio (all in one) contest!!! If you're interested, you can check out the player at Best Buy, and enter into the contest here!
Check back soon - if not for postings, then for the new, fun links!
